There is no use to add so much contrast here. Use parallel lines to shade the part under the eyebrows - where the shadow is. Add shadow under the nose and chin and on the sides. Then use creative, expressive lines to make the hair. It is not necessary to have a real haircut, because, as you can see, you can play even more with the lines to create a spectacular haircut. Then do the earrings and the neck - use lines that suggest a lacy costume. Then go to the chest and will it with expressive lines as you can see in my drawing.
