'Senior Cosmetology students from Southeastern Regional Voc Tech and Plymouth South High School battled it out to showcase their excellent cosmetology skills in high fashion and creativity while judges -- all of whom are graduates of the Cosmetology programs of the two high schools and successful cosmetologists --watched models walk the runway to personally chosen and theme appropriate musical accompaniment. Administration, alumni, teachers, classmates, friends and family members joined the festivities to enjoy the culmination of preparations that began in September, to create hair, make-up, wardrobe and background to a theme of their choice. Individually and as a team, students pushed beyond their comfort levels to grow and change into the amazing cosmetologists displayed at the event. The production was made possible by the support of Cosmetology instructors, as well as the following shops who provided their expertise and skills to make the event a success: Cabinet making and construction (Runway expansion), Design and Visual Communication (Photographers), Performing Arts (Videographers) and Culinary Arts who prepared and served lunch to invitees. Event Planner and Manager Bridgette Hayward worked with her cosmetology teacher, Miss Hathaway, as well as with various shops. She made the invitations, programs, ordered decorations, worked with construction to make the runway stage and made sure everything ran smoothly. Miss Hayward\'s future plans are to attend Bridgewater State University to be an English teacher. Teams from Southeastern Regional Vocational Tech included Tiffany Janes (Stylist) and Courtney Carlson (Model) in Butterfly Metamorphosis, Katherine Cruz (Stylist) and Micayla Quinn (Model) as Poison Ivy, Brooklyn Alves-Joseph (Stylist) and Jessica Ciardi (Model) as Patriotic Liberty, Allyson Heneghan (Stylist) and Angelina Castaldi (Model) as Corpse Bride, Erica Teixeira (Stylist) and Michaela MacDonald (Model) as The Little Mermaid, and Benilde Cardoso (Model) and Kayla Goncalves (Model) in Bollywood. Plymouth South\'s High School team members were Morgan Hunt (Stylist) and Yvonne Hughes (Model) as Spider Woman, Kasey Buckley (Stylist) and Shantel Cooper (Model) in Disturbia, Brianna Foran (Stylist) and Amanda Dyer (Model) as Gladiator, Kaitlin Hibbard (Stylist) and Ashley Kuhn (Model) in The Day of the Dead, and Deanna Johnston (Stylist) and Danielle Landquist (Model) in Jungle Fever. After careful deliberation and tallying of scores, the awards ceremony was held after lunch in Southeastern Regional\'s Colonial Room Restaurant. All participants received certificates of appreciation, followed by awards in the following special categories: Most creative Backdrop: Day of the Dead, Plymouth South Most Creative Runway Walk: Spider Woman, Plymouth South Most Creative Wardrobe: Bollywood, Southeastern Regional Most Creative Make-up: Spider Woman, Plymouth South Most Creative Hair Design: Patriotic Liberty, Southeastern Regional Most Creative Fill-In Diva: Kaidyn Shea, a kindergarten student at JFK Memorial in Blackstone. After a last minute change, this lovely young lady stepped up to the plate and rocked the runway on short notice. Overall Award recipients are: Patriotic Liberty, Southeastern Regional, 3rd Place Bollywood, Southeastern Regional, 2nd Place Disturbia, Plymouth South, 1st Place The event culminated with a presentation of flowers to Mrs. Hathaway by Cosmetology student and Event Manager Bridgette Hayward. Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School is a public 9-12 vocational high school located in Easton, Massachusetts, serving approximately 1,250 students from the city of Brockton and the towns of East Bridgewater, Easton, Foxborough, Mansfield, Norton, Sharon, Stoughton, and West Bridgewater.'
